The Eternal Enemy
He’s always there, a step ahead. Knowing you better than you know yourself. Always ready with just the right bon mot to puncture your carefully crafted façade and turn your day to ruin.
He’s with you when you wake up in the morning, and he’s the last voice you hear when you go to sleep. Greeting you with a “give up” and sending you to dreamland with a “don’t bother waking up.”
All he wants if your complete and utter destruction. He won’t stop until you’re dead, and the thing is: you are going to die. Sooner or later. He’s got that one up on you too.
Since the best you can hope for is to stymie him for a day, an hour, a minute the logical thing to do would be to throw in the towel.
Of course, he wins if you do that.
And the one thing, above all others, in this stupid world you can’t stand is to see him win. Ever.
Welcome back to the battle.
