Nourishment is returning to Denver this May with its latest production centered around the question: What Does It Feel Like To Grow Up? Set throughout a historic home in Cap Hill, Nourishment is an evening length performance experience aimed at provoking all five senses, through the collaboration of dance, live music, theater, storytelling, visual arts, set design, food and drinks.
In this chapter of Nourishment the audience is pulled into a non-linear world of aging as the cast shares experiences of what it feels like to be a child, to be a teenager, and to enter adulthood. The performance explores what dreams feel like and how reality unfolds. What does it mean to take responsibility, to fulfill expectations, and to feel disillusionment? How does this vast range of joys and struggles manifest itself within us? Is there ever a point when we stop growing up? Nourishment invites the audience to ponder these sorts of questions throughout the show while experiencing each performer’s inner world and perspective.
To further the all-sensory experience, attendees will enjoy a 6-course menu of small bites paired with wines/beer/spirits (included in ticket price), developed by inventive NYC Chef Collin Wagner. Collin’s career has taken him from working at Noma in Copenhagen to Semilla in Brooklyn and The Simone, a NYTimes three-star restaurant, in Manhattan. Nourishment is committed to the theme of locality, and has teamed up with numerous local Denver/Boulder purveyors to honor our commitment of using companies who are local, organic, and working with sustainability.
