Before we go any further:
We are gearing up for the 2020 Immersive Industry Report, the annual look at the whole immersive field written by Ricky Brigante and edited by yours truly. The first report was issued at the 2019 IDS, and it made a big impact. (Check out the 2019 Report.)
If you’re a creator or producer of immersive work we need your help: we need you to take this year’s survey and share the link.
The key insights we are able to draw from the survey make the report an invaluable tool when dealing with local governments, investors, corporations, and traditional arts producers. This means the report is only as strong as the input from the survey can make it. The report will again be issued for free, so it can reach the broadest audience possible.
The deadline for participation is Feb 28th!

Feb 23, 2020 11a-2pm
At The Kingsland Ward
Taught by Marissa Nielsen-Pincus, Associate Artistic Director of Third Rail Projects, this three-hour workshop will share skills and methods to create movement in site specific and immersive environments, investigating how to yield into, counter, locomote over, and explore what is possible when moving on architecture and furniture. This workshop will delve into the questions that arise: How do we take care of our bodies? How do we take safe risks and make bold choices? How do we make movement that is organic to the particular structure we are working on? Open to all skill levels. A dance or theater background is not required, but a willingness to move and explore is a requisite.
