Join us for a unique Twelfth Night celebration where a traditional Twelfth Night cake determines who plays what role in Shakespeare’s beloved comedy. Ring in the new year with a joyous, one-of-a-kind event that will never be the same twice.

In this limited, immersive production, the play itself erupts out of a Twelfth Night Party inspired by the structure of an Elizabethan Twelfth Night Festival — live music, refreshment, games, and other performances begin at 6:30pm for VIP ticket holders, culminating in the cutting of a Twelfth Night Cake just before the performance. The tradition of the Twelfth Night Cake emerged during the time of Henry VIII: in the cake are hidden a dried bean and a dried pea; one audience member will cut the cake into slices and give them to the actors. Whichever actor discovers the dried bean will play the Duke Orsino in that evening’s performance, and whichever actor discovers the dried pea will play the Countess Olivia.

Join us for a one-of-a-kind experience filled with laughter, music, and — of course — cake.

Content Advisories: This play deals with death, alcohol abuse, and heteronormative gender roles.

This production will involve movement and periods of standing for all audience members: Groundling Tickets are for standing throughout the performance; Reserved Seat and VIP admission does offer seats for several long stretches of the show, but even those require experiencing a few ~10 minute sections of the play on your feet.

Rude Grooms are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all audience members. If you have mobility issues that make standing for several minutes at a stretch impossible or unpleasant, please reach out to the company at twelfthnight@rudegrooms.com.
