Split-Rail returns with a dinner inspired by the 100th Anniversary of the Axman Murders of New Orleans! On March 13, 1919, the dreaded Axeman of New Orleans wrote a letter to the editor of the Times-Picayune, and informed the city that on the following Tuesday, he would “pass over New Orleans” but all those playing jazz music would be spared. On Tuesday March 19th Split-Rail will present a seafood boil and will be playing jazz all night long to commemorate this terrifying time.
Partnering with Split-Rail on the evening is Barrens Theatre Company—known for their immersive works like the Bloody Bathory Project. The Barrens will create an interactive room within the restaurant for the guests of the evening to explore theories about the Axman and help try to answer the still unknown: who did it?
Tickets include a welcome cocktail, community dinner, wine, dessert and of course the experience of the evening.
