Immersive is on the road, again
What happened this week in immersive? A whole lotta XR news! ILMxLAB and Magic Leap dropped Star Wars: Project Porg; the high-end headset the Varjo VR-1 made waves in the XR community; and The History of the Future, an accounting of the modern resurgence of VR through the lens of Oculus was also released.
And as for us? This week in NoPro land we went everywhere from Prohibition-era New York state to snooping on a block association meeting to 1950s Havana to a 10-day LARP road trip where participants play a rock band on tour! Plus, a great interview with immersive theatre company Bricolage about all of their different access initiatives.
What else? There’s more — we’ll be bringing you coverage of the Immersive Design Summit this weekend on Twitter; follow @designimmersive for the scoop and join us on Patreon for early access to upcoming audio content.

“Created as a side project from the people behind the 2-time Golden Lock-In Award-winning company 13th Hour Escape Rooms, The Garage exemplified how escape rooms don’t require a complex, epic story to be entertaining and compelling. The Garage is a create game and it is for sale along with its lease.”
“If you visit San Antonio this August for the Escape Room Conference, don’t miss Extreme Escapes. The Cursed impressed us with a detailed environment, a solid puzzle game, and one hell of a moment. Extreme Escape sold us on the place, the story, and our role within it.”
“Do you wish you could play an escape room with friends who live across the world? Now you can.”
