Reports coming in from Tribeca VR and Overlook Film Festival, plus our preview of Hollywood Fringe Festival 2018, and more
The hits just keep on coming! This week on NoPro: a multi-entry diary of VR pieces at the Tribeca Film Festival’s Virtual Arcade; the mother of all Hollywood Fringe Festival previews; a review of an an immersive piece that combines both LARP and theatre; plus Overlook Festival coverage, including the bombshell that Darren Lynn Bousman is working on a non-Tension Experience immersive piece in Los Angeles (whaaaat?). Plus, we got some of our favorite creators in LA together on the podcast to talk about their upcoming collaboration at Hollywood Fringe Fest.
And, as if that’s not enough, we started the mother of all Twitter Follow Fridays for our lovely Patreon backers. We literally can’t do this work without you so: thank you.
ON THE PODCAST THIS WEEK
What happens when two immersive theatre companies meet at a bar in San Francisco?
They make a show in LA, that’s what.
Rochester, 1996 is a collaboration between Capital W and DryCræft Los Angeles that will be hitting this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival. We talk with Lauren Ludwig & Monika Miklas of Capital W, and Thaddeus Shafer of DryCræft Los Angeles whose life as the son of a pastor provides the inspiration for the show.
(They’re raising money/selling advance tickets on IndieGoGo right now.)
All that plus a touch of the usual shenanigans.
(And don’t miss out on the opportunity to train with Lauren this coming week in LA.)
