We’re in the mood for immersive, are you?
No Proscenium and Everything Immersive This Week is brought to you by:

Oh my. It sure feels like summer is hitting its stride early here in immersive-land. A slew of announcements came out of E3, Punchdrunk has their new experience up for families in London, Carne y Arena has made its way to Amsterdam, and, of course, Hollywood Fringe Festival continues in full force in Los Angeles. Plus: our friends over at Room Escape Artist received something very mysterious in the mail. Who could it be from, I wonder?
Here at NoPro, we collated a bunch of immersive classes and workshops onto a permanent listing page (finally!), thought a lot about the terminology we use to describe “site-specific” and “site-responsive” work, and also spoke to a mistress of a mysterious vampire den in LA on the NoPro podcast (more on that below).
New NYC and LA newsletters are on the horizon this weekend, as is our weekly North America events newsletter which comes out every Wednesday. That’s a lot of emails! Let’s just say we spend multiple hours each week looking for new, interesting, immersive and interactive shows throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This work can only happen with the generous support of our presenting sponsor Meow Wolf and people just like you. It’s your Patreon pledges that keep us going, day in and day out.
Won’t you join this immersive revolution?
ON THE PODCAST THIS WEEK
Our hard-hitting reporters have revealed a nest of bloodsuckers in the beating heart of Los Angeles. This den of the undead appears to the outside world as the lobby of one of those newfangled “escape rooms” co-owned by a woman named Rachel Foti. Our intrepid host dares to enter this lair of sin and uncover the secret origin of this nefarious gathering point for a “micro-community” of the vampire’s mortal pawns.
Follow us into The Count’s Den if you dare.
(Translation: we talk with Rachel Foti of Horror Escapes LA about how she’s turning an escape room lobby into a community space, and just how that plays into her love of immersive theatre.)
