It’s our favorite time of the week — time for everything immersive that happened over the last seven days! What was up in Immersive-ville? Well, Secret Cinema talked to The Stage about their latest experience based upon Casino Royale. Apple announced a bunch of ARKit features at WWDC including people occlusion, motion capture, and more, and Microsoft demoed the Minecraft Earth augmented experience at the conference, as well! The Oculus Quest continues to sell well according to reports from Amazon. TodayTix released some statistics, including one that sales of immersive theatre performances grew 600% from 2016 to 2018 globally on their ticketing platform. And we learned about how the film Groundhog Day influenced the narrative design in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
As for us, we here at NoPro reviewed a fast food-sponsored experiential marketing pop-up, the final chapter of the Speakeasy Society’s Kansas Collection, an interactive one-man show at an art museum, a digital art center in Paris, and a “museum of memories” at Wildrence in NYC.
We have also started our reporting on the Overlook Film Festival with the latest episode of the podcast starring Noah and Cara (with so much more to come).
