Immersive is roaring to life from coast to coast 🦖
No Proscenium and Everything Immersive This Week is brought to you by:

It’s been a week, folks. It’s been a week.
San Diego Comic Con has wrapped up and right on its heels comes Midsummer Scream and the 2018 Nashville Escape Room Conference. Our friends over at The Experiences did a surprise ticket drop late Friday afternoon for their newest production, Theatre Macabre, while other Spooky Season rumblings have started coming in from Annie Lesser, Just Fix it Productions, Shine On Collective, and more. And the folks at Two Bit Circus let the LA Times in on some of what they’re building at their micro-amusement park. We’re also tracking developments in XR from across the country, from Buffalo to Seattle, as well as what’s happening at Venice VR in a month or so. Lamplighters is tearing it up in the UK as Somnai comes to a close, and Alice’s Adventures Underground finds a new home in Shanghai. And Warner Bros Abu Dhabi just launched a new theme park in the UAE. What?
And here at NoPro, Melanie wrote up our first review in Paris, Leah reviewed a site-evocative show in NYC, and Noah sat down with the founder of a new platform for immersive creators on the podcast. More on all that below!
ON THE PODCAST THIS WEEK
We sit down with the founder of Presence, which aims to be a kind of Patreon for experiential artists, Damian Madray to talk about his own life as an experience designer and why he decided to built a platform for other makers.
Damian is also the co-host of the upcoming EXP*DSN, aka Experiential By Design, a live web show that features conversations between pioneers in experience design. The show kicks off on August 2nd, and will feature director Lynsey Peisinger who produces participatory work with The Abramovic Method. It will also have some weirdo named No Ha Nel son.
