LOS ANGELES — In 2018, They Played Productions launched Captivated, their modern trilogy of a take on Frankenstein. An unconventional and unique retelling of the horror story, Captivated has taken audiences to a party, to a wake, to track a conspiracy and even to holidays past. Now, they complete the tale with Captivated: You, an immersive production that makes you the final character.
The reporter Mike Stone has been kidnapped. His hacker friend Emma has found the trail to where he might be. You will join her at the spot as it’s time for you and your friends to learn what is happening in this isolated warehouse.
The audience will unveil the final chilling mysteries by stepping directly into the story. There is no escape as you stop watching events and become an intimate part of the tale. Every choice you make impacts the ending. You decide who to trust. You decide who wins and who loses. But never forget — your choices also make you complicit, so choose carefully as you find yourself in one of more than 30 ultimate conclusions.
Captivated: You is an immersive experience designed for mature audiences. It is an exploration of need, love, obsession and the true depths that someone will take to achieve their goals — at any cost. It is a self-contained chapter that can also be enjoyed as part of the larger trilogy. We want you to join us whether you’re brand new to this tale or whether you’ve been working with Mike, Justine, Emma G. Nation and others all along.
Participants will traverse the location and at times be split into smaller groups or even individually for additional intense encounters. There will be snacks and non-alcoholic drinks available during the hour-long production.
