Press Release Follows
RE: Immersive Theatre Series Exploring Rare Mental Disorder Coming August 2019 by CoAct Productions
Last year, we indulged in the sensational world of immersive theatre hit, The Sideshow (2018). CoAct Productions now invites participants to step into the shoes of the mentally disturbed in The Severance Theory, a four-part interactive
series exploring a rare and fascinating psychological phenomenon.
Set to premier August 2019, Welcome to Respite will mark the first chapter of this chilling journey. Designed for only a single audience member, this 30-minute encounter offers you a gateway into the past as you reexamine a charming
childhood memory. It is hoped that you might find solace in this moment, as respite is only temporary when you’re at the whim of your own mind.
Over the course of the series, participants will experience a first-person account of living with mental illness and navigate the disorder from its symptomatic beginnings to manifestation. The lines between reality and the subconscious mind become increasingly blurred as you grapple with the demons of your past. Join us this August in exploring the formidable intricacies of the human mind in The Severance Theory: Welcome to Respite.

Danielle’s passion for Immersive Theater was ignited long before she knew what it was. From an early age she has been inspired by haunted houses and
theme parks for bringing the audience physically into the environment and making them part of the show. She has created a career designing sets for film
and television, but has found that it is missing the live audience to feel, smell, and even taste the environment. Danielle was finally able to bring an
audience that multi-sensory experience with CoAct’s debut production The Sideshow, to much success and personal fulfillment. It is now time to lean into
her original love for darker material and she is very excited to send you deep into The Severance Theory series.
