The Best Butter Company has reviewed your application for employment. You’ve been hired and it’s time to attend your employee orientation. That’s the premise of Feed Your Head, the new immersive theatre experience presented by Sparkle Theatricals, an adventurous, Minneapolis-based performance company that has been delighting audiences with original and surreal shows since 2015.
Feed Your Head is inspired by Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Tea Party and offers a fresh take on that storybook favorite. Audiences are invited to step into Alice’s shoes, to be captivated by a host of curious characters — like, Bunny, an unwavering Best Butter Company optimist and the orientation guide — and to be enchanted by sleights of hand during a topsy-turvy presentation by The Accountant (Master Magician Steven Paul Carlson). Along the way, “they’ll quickly learn that things are not as they seem,” says writer J.J. Kaiser (2017 Jerome Artist Award Recipient, Sparkle Theatricals debut).
