Playground is an theatrical event with a untraditional structure. This exciting theatrical event invites audiences to experience a multitude of site-specific, immersive theatre pieces and installations. The structure of the event is inspired by the HIVE events in Vancouver, BC.
Playground involves daring and experimental pieces that explore the theme of borders. Audience members can curate their evening by choosing from the menu of performances. It is impossible to see every piece within one evening, people are encouraged to return to experience what they may have missed, satisfaction guaranteed; for each visit will be unlike the last.
Note: The F.C. Smith Building is not wheelchair accessible. There are 21 steps leading down to the main lobby space. Two performances require an additional 4 steps up (from the lobby) to reach the Cazalet Black Box. Two performances require 21 steps up (from the lobby). Two performances requires going 4 steps up, then 10 steps up, then another 16 steps up (from the lobby).
