I'd write more here, but the airplane wi-fi didn't work so instead I'm trying to file this before I sack out and then hit the road for MassMoCa. I'm out in Massachusetts ahead of the New York Immersive Invitational next week.

The New York Immersive Invitational is a co-production of After Hours Theatre Company, The Immersive Experience Institute, and Culture Lab LIC.

- This week on the pod we sit down with Troy Heard, Briana Roecks, and Anthony Robinson to talk about Las Vegas' immersive Prom Night '99, the recent Midsummer Scream, and Vegas' past, present, and future.
THE SITE
- The first of many feature reviews from Noah this week finds us in an undisclosed location in the San Fernando Valley at a private resident facing the monster in a kid's closet. Wait, what year is it? The Fear Program, which hails from a young first-time creator, has some decidedly classic immersive horror vibes.
- Staying on the horror side of things, Universal Horror Unleashed is currently celebrating its one year anniversary with a Resident Evil (the video game) overlay in its common areas and that made for a fun first trip. Noah dives in.
- AREA15's Lost Spirits Distillery may be gone, but the space is still haunted by the memory of what went on there in more way than one. You-know-who reviews Oddyssey Manor, a cocktail/theatre experience that has take over the space in Las Vegas.
- We gave a breakdown of the teams participating in the inaugural New York Immersive Invitational, which is just a week away!
- Well, well, well if it isn't Mr. Third Person again, who spent last Saturday at Midsummer Scream – which unbeknownst to him was the last time it will be in Long Beach. (In case you hadn't heard, it's moving to Anaheim.)

LONDON
Our Failed State is Beautiful
August 31st 1992 — the Underland Presidential Election. A year on from the Great Fire, and for the first time in years there is more than one party on the ballot. Two campaigns clash for the heart of Underland, and a manifesto only tells you so much about the people who wrote it.
Spilt Marbles' debut is a free-roam immersive production staged across multiple rooms. You move through the spaces, follow whichever characters you choose, and watch the campaigns from the inside. Actors may speak to, look at or touch you — at the start of the show you choose one of two sashes to signal whether you consent to interaction, and you can swap it at any point.
You must choose who to follow, who to trust, and ultimately you must decide this election's outcome. After all the speeches, the manifestos and the promises of change, one question remains: can things truly get better?

Nesterval's Eldorado
Set primarily in Berlin’s Scheunenviertel, the neighborhood around the Sophiensæle bulding complex, the piece centers around Berlin’s queer history before and during Nazi rule. Inspired by biographies of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans people who were systematically persecuted and murdered at the hands of the Nazi regime, this production artfully weaves fiction and reality into a poignat story that allows the audience to fully inhabit the characters’ thoughts and experiences.
