The immersive experience is nearing ubiquity, and every aspect of culture is contending with how to integrate it into their practices, their fields, their industries. Karen Wong (Adjunct Assistant Professor, Columbia GSAPP and Deputy Director, New Museum) and her fall 2017 seminar students composed a glossary of terms to define the strategies and conditions they found most prevalent and intriguing in the mediated environments for cultural space. Wong will be in conversation with Lance Weiler (Director of Columbia’s Digital Storytelling Lab) about “Frankenstein AI: A Monster Made by Many,” an immersive and participatory theatrical installation.
