HIDDEN is a multi-sensory dining experience utilizing food & drink, virtual reality and dance as mediums to explore different aspects of who we are — and to ultimately recognize the impact of the stories we tell ourselves, the realities we deem true.
HIDDEN starts with a VR film composed of four thematically distinct dances, woven together with poetry and 360 spatial audio. As these masked figures continue to dance, guests realize they are in actuality the same person, each revealing separate pieces of our individuality. As the VR ends, guests are transported into a cavernous space where the dancers — still masked — are physically present, serving each theme of the dance in the form of an edible course or beverage. The night reaches a climax as guests re-enter VR to see the big reveal of who the masked dancer really is, and watching a final intimate performance both virtually and physically.
Our goal is to capture the emotional turmoil and elation of the self-discovery process through dance and food, while also examining the concepts of cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias using elements of immersive theatre, dance and conceptual food & drink.
