It’s all fun and games until someone gets killed.

This August, Stairwell Theater presents a workshop showing of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet”. Set in a decaying contemporary society where team sports inform law, justice, and politics — can love defeat tribalism and break the game before the final buzzer? When does competition turn into violence? An athletic ensemble will tackle Shakespeare’s best loved tragedy through a unique physical vocabulary informed by dance, team sports and original music.

This workshop of Romeo and Juliet runs a limited number of performances, with the intention to stage a fully mounted production in the summer of 2019.
