Speculative Drama, known for their immersive theatrical performances, presents a unique production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet in the fashion of Oregon Shakespeare Festival meets Sleep No More. Join an intimate audience of 10–12 guests following our cast through the world’s worst family reunion!

The “Lake House” Hamlet, performed in a Southeast Portland private HOME explores themes of class privilege, family drama, and madness through a contemporary lens. This production focuses on the intimate personal violence of indecision, madness, and betrayal, bringing into sharp focus the intersection of privilege and care: how one person’s inability to make adult choices can drown themselves and all those around them in their wake.

Space for this production is extremely limited, so get your tickets early!
VIP tickets include one ticket to the show, one free drink, a poster, and a very special Hamlet themed trinket chosen just for you!

Office facilities provided by Thymele Arts, in Los Angeles, CA.

Contact Level: Light (Business/Acquaintance); audience members may be acknowledged, brushed past, shown screens/devices, and offered objects (with no requirement to touch/take them).

Content Advisories: Stylized prop handgun (no realistic firearm sound or simulation), flashing lights/sirens outside the house, implied intimate partner violence, stylized implied suicide/overdose. Floors are hardwood and the space is very clean, however there is an elderly cat who lives in the home.

Mobility Advisories: Audience should be prepared to climb 5–10 stairs, stand, and walk. Seating is limited and includes some non-traditional perches. If an audience member chooses to observe the show without standing or walking, they can do so without missing the primary storyline, but they will miss some secondary scenes.

Unfortunately, this venue cannot be navigated by wheelchair users. Audience members with a walker who are comfortable navigating 4–5 stairs (we can provide assistance) into the house will be able to observe the show with the exception of two non-vital scenes. Art lovers with accessibility questions are encouraged to contact the producers directly at speculative.drama@gmail.com; we are committed to doing everything within our power to make our shows accessible!
