Before I write one word more I have to note: this is not a review. Ethically I can’t review this show. I’m compromised. One of the creators, Jeff Leinenveber, has been a backer of the podcast from its inception. I’ve called the lead voice actor, Mackenzie Firgens, “sister” for almost as long as I’ve known her. So, yeah, this isn’t “Noah Nelson theatre critic” or even “Noah Nelson immersive community sherpa” talking.
This is a friend and supporter of these creators talking:

The Nest, the first work from Leinenveber and his partner Jarrett Lantz’ Scout Expedition Co. is simply lovely.
If you’ve ever wished that an escape room had more of a story, or that you could walk through a game like Gone Home or Firewatch then this experience is for you. If you enjoy radio style drama or non-linear storytelling this is for you. If you like to be surprised and delighted by clever set design that tells you the story, ala a theme park, then… you get the picture.
Jeff and Jarrett have made a spectacular debut. I wish I could review it. I can only point you to the podcast interview I did with them announcing the company, and share the guide to the neighborhood around the show — which includes the famous Dresden where I wish I had gotten a glass of wine before last night’s run — that I wrote up.
Cross your fingers that they extend. If they do, between this and Fringe we are going to have an incredible month of immersive in June.
