Roman Women is a ritual performance exploring the underdeveloped female narrative in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, imagining the public and private lives of the women of the late Roman Republic. This work features live instrumentation, classical text derived from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, and physical theatre and dance generated by the all-female ensemble. Gather under the majestic rotunda of the Palace of Fine Arts and wind around the lagoon in this unique performance ceremony.
As with all We Players’ productions, the audience will follow the show throughout the environment, moving from location to location along with the performers.
