“From ancient grudge break to new mutiny”
Experience William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, playing February 1st-17th at the beautiful Throckmorton Theatre in downtown Mill Valley.
The timeless tale of love is brought to life in an intimate new imagining from Director Amy Marie Haven. Witness a brawl in the street, sip champagne at the grand ball of Lord Capulet, share secrets in Juliet’s room, and take a peek into the Friar’s private quarters.
Our production of Romeo and Juliet is an immersive, emotional take on the greatest love story of all time. You can expect to be on your feet, moving through different areas, please wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes. There are a limited number of tickets available to each performance.
The production will feature two casts: a main cast of professional adult actors, and a secondary cast of teens, ages 13–18. Teens cast in the production will be part of Throckmorton’s Performing Apprenticeship, which offers a unique combination of performance, training and observation.

Office facilities provided by Thymele Arts, in Los Angeles, CA.

Contact Level: Audience members will be served beverages, champagne for the adults, cider for the kids, the performers may address them directly and they may be asked by a cast member to dance in the ball. All is completely voluntary and they may decline any offers they receive
Content Advisories: There is physical violence involving daggers, clubs, and hand to hand combat
Mobility Advisories: Audience members can expect to be on their feet, moving through different areas, so we ask them to please wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes. We are asking patrons that purchase ADA seats what their needs are ahead of their performance, so we know how best to accommodate. If someone has mobility issues and is on a cane or has a wheelchair — all is still accessible to them as we have it (we will maintain a couple of the seats as ADA reserved in each area). The Friar’s quarters is located upstairs so this piece alone will be offered to these patrons as a visual in the front lobby for that scene. All other scenes can be attended.
