If you don’t know much about ASMR, you’re about to slide down a soothing rabbit hole. Whisperlodge translates the YouTube phenomenon into a live experience, and this time out they’re running all weekend long. The advanced reservations are sold out, but they’re sharing the soothe with a free stand-by line.

From May 27th-29th, Whisperlodge will transform a 19th century house on the Island’s historic district into a minimalist spa. Part therapy and part immersive performance, six guides lead six guests through a series of treatments intended to calm the mind and bring awareness to the senses.

Whisperlodge’s performance methodology is inspired by Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR). ASMR is a sensory phenomenon where people feel pleasurable tingles from specific visual, aural and haptic triggers. It is commonly accessed through Youtube, where amateur and professional ASMRtists create videos to induce tingles. As one of the pioneers of live ASMR, Whisperlodge translates this digital performance into a tangible, physical experience.

The standby line and 5PM daily performances have just been added. These are first-come, first-serve, and are free.
