From University of Calgary’s School of Creative and Performing Arts comes Conduct, a multi-disciplinary collaboration featuring the three SCPA divisions of dance, drama, and music, with over 60 students and 10 faculty members taking part. The performance invites audience members into a dream world based on the life and work of Henry Cowell. The production will include blindfolds (briefly), walking and standing in small spaces with irregular floor surfaces, and a special soundtrack that audience members will be asked to download as an app to their smartphones and listen to individually.
Note: Please bring earbuds or headphones. All audience members will be asked to check their coats, outdoor clothing (hats, gloves, etc.) and bags or knapsacks. A coat check, with attendant, will be available at all performances.
Accessibility note: the first ‘movement’ of the performance (approx. 1 hour) has significantly limited wheelchair access. The second ‘movement’ (approx. 30 minutes) is fully accessible. There will be a modified, fully-accessible version of the full performance (movements 1 and 2) on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
