DrownedOut Productions has become one of the companies to watch in Los Angeles over the past two years with shows that have gotten the local immersive scene talking.

It all started with Limos: An Immersive Psychic Experience, which starts as a tarot reading and then… well that would be telling.

One of the more exciting things about that show, which we reviewed in its 2025 incarnation, is that it had a message and a purpose. Something that cleanly pointed beyond its own existence, and gave the work a bite.

Now the company is bringing the show back this December in a new location as Limos: Rebirth. We checked in with Jackson Mancuso of DrownedOut Productions about the reemergence of the company’s original work.

No Proscenium: Tell us a little bit about your experience! What’s it about? What makes it immersive?

Jackson Mancuso: Limos is an intimate tarot card reading full of suspense and spectacle. It’s a fortune telling gone wrong, weaving elements of Greek mythology and immersive horror to tell a tale of greed and destruction for those brave enough to hear it. This show packs the best practices of immersive entertainment into an intimate setting, crafting a highly-distilled experience about the mysteries of mankind.

NP: What was the original inspiration for Limos?

JM: The concept for Limos came from my love of the occult, ritual, and witchcraft. I wanted to create a show that lived in that world. It’s also connected to my adoration for horror and how horror can be used as a great driver of theme. Beneath all the horror of Limos, is an important lesson in environmental responsibility.

NP: What do you think fans of immersive will find most interesting about this latest experience, and is there something for repeat visitors?

JM: This really is our love letter to immersive entertainment and is what started DrownedOut. It is important that it reflects everything we enjoy about immersive experiences: the intimacy, the set dressing, the ability to story tell on a deeper level, and of course — horror! We are really excited to bring our debut experience back to LA.

And for those returning, we certainly have some surprises in store that will keep the tension high and give some good scares!

NP: This version of Limos is subtitled “Rebirth,” what do you feel like you’ve learned since the original production that’s informing this one?

JM: Bringing Limos back gives us an exciting opportunity to elevate our original show with fun new additions. Without giving too much away, this remount of the show has been approached as a parlor bag of tricks. Pulling on what we’ve done with The Shoebox Museum, there are a lot of visual moments added to aid in the storytelling and some added tension based on what we’ve learned with People In the Dark. We’ve gained quite a few tricks since we last did Limos and it’s exciting getting to put them all into this show.

NP: What can fans who are coming to this, or thinking about coming to this, do to get into the mood of the experience?

JM: Come as you are! I wanted to create something with a low barrier of entry that is easily accessible for all audience members. I hope the show makes people think about how they show up for each other and the Earth, leading to reflection and ultimately change with the New Year. I also encourage people to follow our Instagram, @DrownedOutProductions to stay up to date with all the latest show information!
