There have been stirrings of late in Downtown L.A., as a legendary place of power has reawakened, calling out to hungry souls in search of solace and nourishment.
Of course we're talking about Clifton's, the landmark which has been undergoing a reboot this year as new owners look to bring the Cafeteria like no other back into the limelight of Los Angeles' own Broadway.
To that end they're cooking up some specials, in the form of a Halloween event – The Dark Wedding – that taps into a broader planned mythology which Alex McCullough, Executive Producer of The Dark Wedding and CoFounder of The Sanctuary at Clifton’s hints at below.
The show, which runs Oct. 30th - Nov. 1, promises to be a sandbox experience framed around a supernatural nuptial that features "quests, an escape room, and yes even a frightening gourmet reception dinner if you choose to partake."

NO PROSCENIUM: Tell us a little bit about your experience! What’s it about? What makes it immersive?
Alex McCullough: Expanding upon last year’s The Crimson Covenant, The Dark Wedding is an immersive theatrical experience set within the dark fantasy world of Sundered Earth. Guests step into an unholy union between a cultist bride seeking immortality and Modantus, The Echo Thief, a demon lord bent on world domination whose minions harvest human fear to fuel his power.
Designed as both a narrative spectacle and an interactive game, guests can cross paths with sinister characters to complete quests, trade in the night market, unmask traitors in a basement game of social deception, and enjoy live music and theatrical dance acts across the venue.
