Inspired by Russian folklore and designed in the style of a pop-up book, Zabiti tells an original tale of a dark curse that has engulfed a magical forest, and two heroines (a human and a wolf) who, along with their rag-tag group of misfits, fight the encroaching darkness. Thwarting the rebels at every turn, is an evil Queen and her two (acrobat) henchmen, audiences can choose to join their crew instead, causing hilarious trouble throughout the land.
Aerialists, stilt walkers, acrobats, dancers, musicians, and more set the stage, bringing audiences into a unique theatre experience that allows them to explore a fantastical world at will — wandering in and out of the storyline and interacting with characters as live music, and circus happen around each spectator.
Audience members can get further immersed in the story by choosing to add on a special character bio (with costume suggestions), a puzzle track created by Denver’s Puzzah! puzzle room, or decadently intricate handmade leather mask created by Tiffany Smyth of ArtsMyths.
