It’s been a week, indeed. Japanese immersive artists TeamLab announced they’re hitting up Brooklyn next summer. The first Magic Leap units shipped out and the reviews from creators are trickling out. Spooky Season continues its explosion across the USA with creepy shows & haunts popping up everywhere, with a call for proposals for Halloween-themed immersive shows on Governors Island in NYC. And our very, very quiet friends at Whisperlodge were filmed by Reuters during their current New York City run.
As for Team NoPro, we found ourselves in a variety of surreal, dream-like experiences, whether it was in a young woman’s magickal bedroom or the world of Oz with the Speakeasy Society or traveling back in time in Prospect Park with the Brouhaha Theatre Project.

ON THE PODCAST THIS WEEK
Sara Beil and KJ Knies are one of LA’s most interesting behind the scenes pairs in immersive.
By day Sara works for ThinkWell, the major themed entertainment design firm, as a multimedia writer and producer. KJ, meanwhile, works for Giant Spoon, the company that has been behind some of the splashiest immersive activations (SXSWestworld, The InkHole) this year.
By night the two work on indie projects, like the Hollywood Fringe sleeper hit What Went Wrong, and the immersive enhanced production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest that got LA audiences talking.
