Highland Park’s The Ruby Street Chapel becomes the site of choreographer Andrew Pearson’s latest site responsive work which explores whether or not Love has finally won in the seemingly never-ending fight for marriage equality.
Official Description Follows
When the Supreme Court passed marriage equality, the LGBT community celebrated the Love Wins movement. However, with the government pulling resources from arts and women’s health as well as outwardly supporting initiatives that undermine freedom for all, has Love truly won? This state of the union has choreographer and movement artist Andrew Pearson questioning his own part in the feminist movement and the expression of universal Love. Complete with interactive installations, a live dance-theater performance, and social gathering, this event will put audiences up against their own ideas of love, partnership, and gender.
Hosted by the historic Ruby Street chapel of Highland Park and produced by Dev Bajaj.
