Our processional opera at the Getty Villa, originally scheduled for November, was canceled by the Woolsey Fire. We’ve just received an invite to rebuild the production in late January 2019 and we’re excited to finally present this site-specific piece in its specified site.

katabasis is a mystery rite that charts the geography of the underworld across the grounds and gardens of the museum, inspired by the Villa’s current exhibition Imagining the Afterlife.

Preview & purchase music from katabasis here.

Tickets will be available exclusively through the Getty’s box office on 1/8. Space is extremely limited. Please direct all ticketing questions to the Getty directly. Follow us on IG & FB for additional info.
