Los Angeles — July 26, 2017 — Made In Asia VR, the very first showcase for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences, films, games, and deep tech made by Asia based entrepreneurs, will officially launch in Los Angeles after SIGGRAPH. This inaugural event features new content from Jaunt China, the first multiplayer game from Indonesia, award winning VR games from China’s largest games publisher, VR Core, Southeast Asia’s first VR sci-fi series, the latest VR sickness relief software from Singapore, and other firsts for the region and the world.
This event will take place on August 3 at the Creative Technology Center in Downtown LA from 6:30 to 9:30pm. We’ve partnered with SIGGRAPH Asia, VR Core, and AsiaVR, the largest Asian VR community, to bring you the latest news, developments, and thought leadership from the region. The event will feature demos as well as speaker sessions on the unique benefits of the Asian VRAR scene. Follow this link to get your ticket.
Technology is a global business, yet the tech industry news and trends flows from West to East. 72% of founders say they care about diversity, yet only 10% are taking action. This event is one concrete step towards real action. Made In Asia is an opportunity for people to stay ahead of changing technology trends and connect with entrepreneurs servicing the future facing consumers of Asia.
Our first event starts with China and Southeast Asia, but upcoming events will feature exciting experiences made by forward thinking entrepreneurs from Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and more.
“Made In Asia follows what people in Asia love about VRAR. We’re not signaling the Silicon Valley exodus just yet, but if you’re looking at trends alone — largest region of mobile first consumers and exponential increase in research funding year after year — we think that in
10 years or less, the next Silicon Valley probably won’t be in the US. And the first step to preparing for that future is easy. Pay attention to this region.”
Highlights of today’s announcements include:
Jaunt China: new creative content from Jaunt China
VR Core: the biggest games publisher and developer group in China. Featured games: Aeon, Neurowake, Superninja Hero, Code 51
Sandman Studios: a cinematic VR studio bringing whimsical Chinese cinema to film festivals worldwide
Warrior 9: the first and only VR animation studio in Southeast Asia
