TALKBACK gives audiences a peek into the inner workings of grassroots American theatre companies (which both Larimer and Kaminstein have experience running The NOLA Project and Goat in the Road Productions, respectively) by imagining what would happen at a post-show audience discussion if everyone involved in the production told the absolute, unfiltered truth.

The show will begin with the conclusion of a fictional play, then quickly move into that sometimes-enlightening, sometimes-painfully-awkward phase known to many theatergoers as “the talkback.” During this time, actors and other creative staff come back on stage to answer audience questions about the piece. “What is really fun about this experience is that audience will start the show by filling in some mad-libs that then become the basis for the questions asked to the actors. The audience members themselves will ask the questions, and our characters on stage will answer. It should be fun and different and kind of absurd each performance,” says Artistic Director A.J. Allegra.
