The New York theatre, performance, rave and cinema collective Arcade announces their first live theatre event, Arcade Amerikana, running December 4th — 15th, 2018 at Brooklyn’s Industry City. Combining elements of performance art, rave culture and cinema, Arcade Amerikana aims to draw young people to the theatre who would never ordinarily attend a play.
In a continuation of the ethos of immersive theatre events such as Sleep No More and Fuerza Bruta, Arcade Amerikana will immerse audiences right into the heart of the action–in this case, an imagined rehab resort where the virtually addicted seek reprieve in Las Vegas in the year 2020. With an interactive cube of four larger than life projector screens, DJs mixing in real time, and immersive projection mapping, Arcade Amerikana promises to awaken this rehab retreat, every night an experience newly responsive to its audience.
