Visitors to Our Senses will be able to explore 11 fun house-like galleries designed to test our perceptions. See how your sight changes dependent upon the color of light. Experience what happens when what you see contradicts what you feel. Unpack the fragrance notes in a complex scent. And learn how how our brain works to create our perception of “reality” by filling in gaps, resolving conflicts, correcting errors, and using scraps of information to trigger memories. Our Senses is curated by Rob DeSalle, a curator in the Museum’s Division of Invertebrate Zoology who conducts research at the Sackler Institute for Comparative Genomics.
