The UP CLOSE Festival is modeled after the community organizing principles of legendary Greenwich Village activist JANE JACOBS. Join the action as The New Ohio’s underground theatre is transformed into a living archive of Greenwich Village history where Ms. Pea, our expert and whimsical host, shares her secret stash of totally true tales in an up close celebration of community for the entire family. Recommended for all ages 5 and up! Families engage in a hands-on 360° pre-show experience, then become immersed in four different short stories, created by some of NYC’s most accomplished theater artists.

The featured artists are Trusty Sidekick Theater Company; Bated Breath Theatre Company; Lauren Sharpe; Marisol Rosa-Shapiro; Jono Waldman; Christina D. Eskridge; And Peter Musante & Summer Shapiro.

The festival presentations are divided into two programs — Program A: December 20–24 and Program B: December 27–31.
