CHICAGO
Staff Pick of the Week: FORTS
While there’s an expectation that making cardboard forts is something only kids do for fun, Filament Theatre tears up that preconceived notion by letting adults have their chance at playtime. Building massive forts with both friends and strangers was arguably the most constructive and positive exploration into creativity I’ve had in a long time, creating a joyful start to 2020 that every adult should experience. — Patrick McLean

It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without Birch House Immersive’s annual production of Lonely Hearts, this year dubbed The Sweethearts’ Soiree. Previous years have had me laughing and deeply moved all at the same time in my one-on-one interactions, leaving me to look forward to what tales of love shared over cocktails await me during this year’s romantic weekend. — Patrick McLean

The creators of Haus of Creep and The Willows are back, and this time we’re time traveling back to the swinging 70's! Time to wear your best bell bottoms and bring out your big hairstyles. Will JFI leave it all on the dance floor again? We’re about to find out. — Kathryn Yu, Executive Editor
