CHICAGO
Staff Most Anticipated: Home Invasion
With making sure our home is locked up as one of my bedtime rituals, Silencio Theatre’s production of Home Invasion seems posed to tug on my fears of being safe in my own home. With being performed in someone’s actual apartment, I look forward to being trapped, frightened with what’s locked in there with us. — Patrick McLean, Chicago Curator
Staff Also Anticipated: FORTS!
My first steps into a larger, theatrical, and imaginative world started with the forts I made as a kid throughout my parent’s homes. Thanks to the Filament Theatre, I’m excited to dust off those skills again and see what magical places I can transport myself to now over 20 years later. — Patrick McLean, Chicago Curator

If you should be so lucky as to both a) be in Park City and b) have a chance to get into The Box at The Ray for the New Frontier selections take the time, even if you have to wait twenty minutes to experience this incredibly moving tale. History comes alive through masterfully composed animation — rendered in a game engine no less — and storytelling that proves that narrative VR is only waking up to it’s full potential. — Noah Nelson, Publisher
LOS ANGELES
Staff Pick of the Week: The Fortune Teller, Level Games
“…a strong escape room that could use a bit of fine-tuning with some fun/clever puzzles while making good use of an actor in the space to actually lend to the game.” — Kevin Gossett, LA Reviews Editor
Staff Most Anticipated: Miss Jezebel’s Tea Party, 60Out
Some friends are visiting from out of town and wanted to do an escape room… and I seem to be on a kick of escape rooms with actors, so Miss Jezebel it is. I’m expecting an absurd, raunchy time with that bawdy black widow. Pinkies up! — Kathryn Yu, Executive Editor
