Pick of the Week: The Red Palace
A candy box of kinaesthetic treats, The Red Palace welcomes guests to a jeweled labyrinth and turns them loose. Bite the apple, spin the straw into gold, but don’t get lost in the woods — there’s wolves about. — Shelley Snyder, NoPro London
Most Anticipated: CULT
Considering ONEOHONE made me cry last year with the sentence “i still like apple cake” I’m looking forward to being a member of a CULT. — Thomas Jancis, NoPro London Correspondent
New York City
Pick of the Week: FOUND
“There are gems hiding under the stairs or tucked into corners that make the piece highly engaging and create an atmosphere of curiosity and ambition. Each floor has secrets to be revealed, and they only get revealed if you’re brave and mischievous enough to discover them.” — From Allie Marotta’s NoPro Review.
Patron Pick of the Week: BLACKOUT
I’m not much into haunts, but I loved Blackout. Immersive theater allows us to step into alternate worlds with different sets of rules. I find these breaks from reality invigorating and restorative. Blackout lets us safely step through 25 minutes of exhilarating danger and madness. I couldn’t resist going to see a performance that started a genre, and having gone through it, I will say that it is satisfying to drink from the source. — Andrew Hoepfner, co-creator Whisperlodge
Philadelphia
Pick of the Week: Dark Passage
This week, I’m incredibly pumped to try Dark Passage in Philadelphia — I’ve been following Pseudonym since they were based in Florida, and have heard nothing but good things, but haven’t had a chance to try anything by them yet. And what better a time of year to try some spooky afterlife adventures than the first full week of October? — Blake Weil, NoPro NYC
Atlanta
Patron Pick of the Week: Frankenstein’s Funeral
Frankenstein’s Funeral was the best show I saw last weekend. It’s a nice marriage of well-acted (and danced) scenes with some great (non-threatening) audience interactions in an absolutely fantastic venue. This would be a great intro into the world of immersive for an audience. — Chris Tonick, Patreon Backer
Los Angeles/SoCal
Pick of the Week: The Seance & Hex Room
Last week Cross Roads Escape Games The Seance was easily our most anticipated show. Having been, we can now say it lived up to expectations. If you haven’t checked out their Hex Room, do yourself a favor and get a crew together for a double header. You’ll get two great, wildly different, experiences in one night. — Noah Nelson, Publisher, NoPro.

But don’t just take our word for it…
Cross Roads Escape Games has successfully taken the leap to the world of immersive theater with this creepy and fun Halloween show. Shades of Jim Henson along with a fun story. Definitely a must see this season. — Jeff Heimbuch, Horrorbuzz

Most Anticipated: Red Flags
Capital W’s one-on-one immersive experience Red Flags is back with a brand new cast, including Haylee Nichele (The Johnny Cycle, Chained) and Heather Ann Gottlieb (Hamlet-Mobile)! Audience members can meet up with “Emma” for the “worst date ever” at Indiecade this weekend and later this month at Two Bit Circus in the Arts District. I, for one, can’t wait to meet her. — Kathryn Yu, Exec. Editor, NoPro
Also anticipated by: Anthony Robinson, NoPro
Patron Most Anticipated: The Seance
An old friend is in town, so I offered up a couple of spooky season themed activities that we could check out this weekend. Her response was “I WANT TO GO TO THE SEANCE,” and who can really argue with that? — MikeLBC
Additional Picks: Haus of Creep (Charlie Dunn, NoPro)

Pick of the Week: Hogwarts Professors on TikTok
Recently, a collection of TikTok users have been using the #hogwartsprofessors hashtag for a collective virtual LARP storytelling experiment, with multiple narrative skeins playing out across the platform. A series of YouTube videos has documented the beginnings of one thread in particular. — Michael Andersen, ARGN.com
