ABOUT THE SHOW:
Curious at the End: Apocalyptic Cabaret is a queer arts showcase and consent-forward interactive immersive theatrical experience that imagines a queer cabaret at the end of the world. Curious at the End was created and written by Queer Cat Productions Co-Artistic Directors Nicole Jost and Carson Beker, and will feature Nic A. Sommerfeld debuting the role of Felix B. Love, host of the party at the end of the world.
On March 26th, Patriarchy Killed the World, Curious at the End will feature Polythene Pam!
Polythene Pam are an upbeat, whimsical, queer Americana girl band. Take the quirky nerdery of They Might Be Giants, the old school country twang of Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash, and the rock attitude of Violent Femmes. Shake well, add a kazoo, and you’ve got Polythene Pam. The show lasts 90 minutes.
Inspired by the current political and ecological moment, Curious at the End asks: What killed the world? Who are we to each other in disastrous times? How do we want to spend our last minutes on Earth? And if, at the end of the world, you can’t be with the one(s) you love — can you love the ones you’re with?
QUEER CAT PRODUCTIONS (Playful, Curious, Haunted) creates playful, perspective-queering, boundary-pushing theater and immersive experiences at the intersection of theater, games, and storytelling. Queer Cat Productions is committed to curiosity about evolving forms; haunting: as queer, as memory, resilience, genre-fluidity; and to the spirit of play, as a consensual space for risk and for stories that we co-create, and that create us in return.
CREATORS AND ARTISTS:
Curious at the End is imagined, written, produced, and directed by award-winning playwrights and Queer Cat Productions founders Carson Beker and Nicole Jost.
Nic A. Sommerfeld will debut the role of Felix B. Love, our host at the End of The World.
In March, Curious at the End: Apocalyptic Cabaret will feature Polythene Pam.

Contact Level: None/ Light. At some point, an actor might request comfort from the audience at large in the form of a hug, a pat on the back, or an encouraging word. Our actor is allowed to choose which audience members they ask, and what they ask for in that moment, and is allowed to withdraw the ask or stop the interaction. The audience member is empowered to say no. No one is required to touch anyone;
Queer Cats is committed to consent-forward interactive theater for all bodies. Interaction is voluntary and changes the course of the play so that no two shows are alike. At Queer Cat Productions, consent is not limited to touch, but extends to all forms of interaction and participation. In our shows, no audience member is required to interact, but their willing participation changes the play. The audience (ie, the community in the world of the play) is told before the show begins that this is a consent forward queer bar on the last night on earth, and that people may ask for numbers, offer comfort, hold hands at the end of the world, or dance with one another, but not before obtaining their consent first.
Content Advisories:
1) Reference to climate change, patriarchy, gentrification, and the real life effects of these forces on the planet and our lives;
2) Discussion of death and apocalypse simulation;
3) Sound and light effects, including full darkness depending on venue;
4) Brief mention of loneliness, depression, and loss.
