New Immersive VR Experience Invites Fans to Use the Force and Battle Darth Vader
September 29, 2020 — SAN FRANCISCO, CA. Today, Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment studio ILMxLAB announced that it has partnered with Nomadic to produce Vader Immortal — Lightsaber Dojo: A Star Wars VR Experience. The collaboration between ILMxLAB and Nomadic is an extension of the successful launch of Lightsaber Dojo last year and represents the next evolution of the arcade-style lightsaber training experience.
“The ILMxLAB team is excited to bring a new chapter to the Lightsaber Dojo experience,” said ILMxLAB Senior Producer, Shereif Fattouh. “Fans will soon have the unique opportunity to battle Darth Vader himself using all their abilities in the ultimate test of skill.”
Inspired by the original Episode III Lightsaber Dojo from the award-winning Vader Immortal series, the immersive experience invites fans to train with iconic lightsabers, blasters, and the Force to combat waves of droids, stormtroopers, and other creatures before a climactic fight against Darth Vader.
“Nomadic is thrilled to once again partner with ILMxLAB to bring guests into the world of Star Wars,” said Sean Griffin, President of Nomadic. “Our new form factor will deliver a more immersive experience for players, will provide a social viewing experience for their friends and family, and is more efficient for family entertainment centers and arcades to operate. Players will don a top-of-the-line virtual reality headset before selecting their lightsaber of choice and difficulty level. Fans will be transported to Mustafar, the fiery planet that Darth Vader calls home, where the action heats up as stormtroopers and droids enter the dojo for battle before Darth Vader makes his entrance for the ultimate challenge.

Lightsaber Dojo is an arcade-style virtual reality experience inspired by the original Episode III Lightsaber Dojo from the award-winning Vader Immortal series.
