Our Overlook Film Festival 2019 creator series continues with an interview with “Saintsbone” creator, Andrew Preble of Escape My Room.

Andrew sat down No Proscenium in the beautiful Olivier House Hotel in New Orleans (which we’ve come to refer to as the “immersive hub” of the festival) to talk about his gaming/immersive theatrical experience, created specifically for the fest.

New Orleans, Louisiana — Saintsbone, a new immersive theatrical production from Escape My Room is premiering as an official selection of the Overlook Film Festival on May 30, 2019.

The Saintsbone Society has long protected the living in New Orleans. The last surviving member, Winifred Delaporte, has been found dead. You are now Saintsbone, the only thing stopping the spirit world from opening up for good and merging with the world of the living. Explore the French Quarter, meet ghosts, solve puzzles, and save us all from chaos… or embrace it.

The show is produced by Katie Bulla, directed by Nathan Sutter, and written by KT Looney. The cast features Nancy White as Baroness Pontabla, Shelly Sneed as Marie Laveau, Taylor Michel as Sultan Jax, Robin Johnstone as Wanesley, Tiffany Christy as Delphine LaLaurie, and David Hamilton as Moe Fantomes.

“Escape My Room has become well-known for immersive storytelling set in the Delaporte Family Estate. We are excited to move out into the streets for the first time, and find new ways to tell historic New Orleans stories,” says Andrew Preble, Executive Producer.

“In creating Saintsbone, we were inspired by the old ghost tales of New Orleans. We are a city known for its sometimes dark history, and what better way to learn about that history than to hear directly from some of its past residents, good and bad,“ says Nathan Sutter, Director.

Escape My Room has won numerous national and international awards since opening in May 2016. This year it was ranked the 9th best escape room company worldwide by Top Escape Rooms Project. The company has grown to design museum, zoo, and aquarium exhibits, and will soon open Escape Extinction: Sharks at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.
