That crazy, classic, immersive life

No Proscenium and Everything Immersive This Week is brought to you by:

We are living in a veritable cornucopia of riches, folks. We had an amazingly long North America newsletter this past week, as well as tons of shows trickling in still in LA and NYC. (You can always find the latest and greatest show announcements compiled in our Now Playing section.)

In other news: our friends at Whisperlodge surprised us with a room at 29Rooms in Brooklyn and the fine folks over at RoomEscapeArtist.com just hit their 1000th blog post!

What else is going on? Evermore Park’s opening party is tonight; London’s For King and Country may just be the first immersive theatre experience being ported to a video game (what?); Vince from Meow Wolf spoke at a conference organized by the American Alliance of Museums about the power of immersive experiences; Giant Spoon and MYCOTOO won a Clio award for their work on #SXSWestworld; and a little place called Two Bit Circus is having its grand opening in LA this weekend.

There’s so much immersive stuff going on all over, from escape rooms to VR to theatre and hybrid work. We love it. Don’t you?

Do you support the immersive revolution? No Proscenium depends upon the generous support of Meow Wolf and people just like you.

ON THE PODCAST THIS WEEK

Darren Lynn Bousman, Clint Sears, and Gordon Bijelonic are the terrifying trio behind the all-new Theatre Macabre, which recreates Paris’ infamous 19th Century Le Théâtre du Grand-Guignol in 21st Century LA, with an immersive twist.

This is, of course, the team that brought us the often controversial Tension and Lust experiences and who made a splash by partnering with the Russo Brothers to bring that universe to Las Vegas.

Theatre Macabre is an all-new stand alone show, and the team is bringing their A game as they look to reinvent how they tell immersive stories. Whatever happens next: we’re bound to be talking about it for months to come.
