The Poetry Society of New York is pleased to announce the Fall season return of its acclaimed event The Poetry Brothel — an interactive poetry experience set up as a decadent fin de siècle brothel. Poets performing under pseudonyms offer private, one-on-one readings of their original work in candlelit back rooms…for money.

The main room of The Poetry Brothel presents an immersive literary cabaret that fuses poetry, burlesque, live music, vaudeville, aerials, performance art, visual art, magic, and mysticism.

Themed, silly, sexy, and/or formal wear are encouraged but not required. The events are 21+.

The shows for this season include:

Hitchcock: September 26th @ The Back Room (102 Norfolk St.)

Ziggy Stardust: September 28th @ The Cutting Room (44 E. 32nd St.)

Season of the Witch: October 18th @ House of Yes (2 Wyckoff Ave.)

11th Annual Masquerade: October 24th @ The Back Room

The Big Easy: November 6th @ The Back Room

Holiday Office Party: December 2nd @ House of Yes
